Maintaining these programs and services requires dedication, financial support and committed volunteers. We need YOU to be a part of our committees and/or to provide the services in the following areas:

  • Clerical support – answer phones, assist with filing, graphic design, typing reports etc.
  • Legal assistance – attorneys and law students to provide basic legal counseling and representation at legal redress clinics.
  • Event assistance – meet and greet, registration, program assistants, room setup and clean up for community events and MORE.
  • School board meetings and educational and community events – to ensure that student equity and civil rights are a reality and not a slogan
  • General and committee meetings – to provide diverse perspectives and expertise

WHO ARE THE MEMBERS OF THE GREATER SACRAMENTO NAACP?

Our members are involved and engaged throughout the greater Sacramento Region. We are diverse, inclusive, multi-generational and come from every walk of life.

We are: parents with young children, students and young adults, business owners and professionals, elected officials and retired senior and community leaders and activists. We are committed to community engagement and involvement.

We are part of the solution by providing a powerful voice for African Americans, ethnic and racial minorities and anyone needing assistance. We are more than 1,000 members strong. And we want you to join our efforts to promote civil rights and civil liberties and to ensure economic empowerment and to be part of the work that still needs to be done.
